Director, playwright, actor, and author, Charles Waxberg has been teaching professionally and privately since 1981. He has taught at Carnegie-Mellon University (w here he holds his MFA), Roundabout Theatre Conservatory, Stella Adler Conservatory, NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, and The Stella Adler Academy, Los Angeles. Raised by a celebrated Broadway parent, Charles joined the theatre at age seven, performing in plays throughout the East Coast before leaving for Los Angeles to learn about "the other half of acting." He helped found the Balagan Theatre, where he served as Artistic Director, helping them achieve two Seattle Times Footlight and helped found Theatre 9/12. He is recipient of The Bud Yorkin Playwriting Award, was nominated by The Arena Stage in D.C. as finalist in the Foundation of the Dramatist Guild/CBS National Playwriting Contest, and was a Resident Playwright and Playwright's Representative for the Manhattan Class Company (MCC Theatre) who developed his play Persona/ Formulas for an Off-Broadway production.
