Broadway Melodies: Musical Performance for Kids, Grades 3 to 5November 2, 2022 – Broadway Melodies: Musical Performance for Kids, Grades 3 to 5Registration now closed. Instructor: Ruth Lettera Wednesdays, 4:30pm to 5:45pm 9/21, 9/28, 10/12, 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, 11/16 (*No class 10/5 in observance of Yom Kippur.) Musical theatre singing is not just about vocal quality, but character and storytelling as well. In this class, students will examine a few Broadway numbers, exploring character choices and story line as well building vocal technique and blending as an ensemble. Over the eight-week session, students will rehearse and stage a few different musical numbers from a variety of Broadway favorites! (Different musical selections are made each session for recurring students.) Registration: $275 |

Build basic skills that will help you in both audition and performance situations and give you more assurance while also having fun! On the Spot: Comedy and Improv for Kids, Grades 3 to 5November 5, 2022 – On the Spot: Comedy and Improv for Kids, Grades 3 to 5Registration now closed. Instructor: Tony Republicano Saturdays, 11:15am to 12:30pm 9/17, 9/24, 10/1, 10/15, 10/22, 10/29, 11/5, 11/19 (*No class 10/8 in observance of Columbus/Indigenous People’s Day Weekend and 11/12 for Veteran’s Day Weekend.) If you’ve got a talent and a love for making people laugh, this eight-week workshop is for you! Humor speaks to all personalities and is an effective way of channeling creativity to make poignant and relevant commentary. In this class, young actors will tap into their own creative ideas and instincts as they explore improv, sketches, physical comedy, parody and joke-telling! They’ll build confidence and teamwork as they learn to trust in themselves and their fellow actors, and recognize the difference between appropriate and inappropriate humor.
