Very different than acting on stage, acting for the camera is more intimate and the camera picks up so much more detail than can often translate on stage. This class will explore scene and monologue work for TV and film performance and auditions. Learn how to best present yourself on-camera and explore auditions, commercials, scenes for TV and film using actual, network and professional scripts. You’ll also pick up useful tips on how to book professional work and industry tricks of the trade! Students will have a chance to review their work on screen. Video clips of their work will be made available to parents and students after the end of the session.

If you’ve got a talent and a love for making people laugh, this eight-week workshop is for you! Humor speaks to all personalities and is an effective way of channeling creativity to make poignant and relevant commentary. Explore a variety of comedic styles including improv, sketch, physical comedy, parody and stand-up. Sharpen your timing, heighten your creative instincts, develop your own comedic characters and ideas, while you also build trust in your scene partners, learn to listen and “pass the ball,” commit to the given circumstances in a scene, and bring freshness and spontaneity to your acting performance.
