TV COMMERCIAL ACTING ONLINE (Grades 9 to 12)
June 2, 2020 –
TV Commercial Acting Online (Grades 9 to 12)
Instructor: Lisa Lelas
Tuesdays, 4:45pm to 5:45pm (Final class will take place on a Wednesday, 6/17)
Dates: 5/19, 5/26, 6/2, 6/9, 6/17* (final date is a Wednesday)
Commercials have become their own form of entertainment - whether on television or through the internet - telling a wide variety of stories presented in different styles and opening up opportunities for diverse types of actors of every age, background and culture. Commercial acting is also the easiest stepping stone into an acting career: it typically requires only one day to audition and one day for shooting, so it’s minimally disruptive to one’s schedule. Each week, this class will offer intensive focus in commercial acting: mastering the natural rhythm of commercial readings (just like riding a bike, once you 'get it' you 'got it!'), product holding, cue cards, solo testimonials & multiple person slice of life scenes, voice over, hand and parts modeling, marketing tips for landing work, auditioning skills & the call back process, plus discussion of commercial agents vs casting directors, etc.
