Curtain Call offers two different summer programs for youth: our Summerstock and Summerstock Junior program, which is a full-day, conservatory-style workshop program for ages six thru sixteen, and our Summer Youth Theatre which produces a full-scale musical production each summer featuring performers and technicians grade four thru age twenty-one. Scroll down below our calendar for information on each.

Summerstock Full-Day Workshops
*New information as of May 19, 2020:
Our Summerstock and Summerstock Junior full-day theatre workshops will take place online. This decision, though difficult, is in the best interest of safety for our students, families and staff. We’ve been working closely with our teaching artists to carefully transition our summer curriculum to an online format (using Google Meet and Google Classroom as our platforms) that will allow the same variety of performance study and creative enrichment as always, in a low-pressure environment where students can focus on building technique, skills and confidence. Our showcases, highlighting the students’ work, will be presented online.
SUMMERSTOCK CREATIVE THEATRE FOR AGES 11-16
June 22 to July 3, 2020; Monday to Fridays, 10:00am to 3:00pm.
Through rotating study in Improv, Shakespeare and Modern Acting in age-appropriate groups (5th and 6th grade, 7th and 8th grade, high school), students will tap into their own creativity drawing upon the instincts, teamwork and timing built in Improv, the technique and discipline developed in Modern Acting and the power of language thru Shakespeare.
SUMMERSTOCK MUSICAL THEATRE FOR AGES 11-16
July 6 to 17, 2020; Monday to Fridays, 10:00am to 3:00pm.
This fun and focused, full-day workshop will sharpen skills in singing, acting and dance. In age-appropriate groups (5th and 6th grade, 7th and 8th grade, high school), students will rotate between these three subjects and be introduced to various musicals that share a common theme.
SUMMERSTOCK JUNIOR FOR AGES 6-11 (two, separate, two-week sessions)
Session One: July 20 to 31, 2020; Monday to Fridays.
Session Two: August 3 to 14, 2020; Monday to Fridays.
Ages 6 and 7 will take place from 9:30am to 12:00pm each session.
Ages 8 to 11 will take place from 12:30pm to 3:30pm each session.
Summerstock Junior provides a strong foundation in acting and performance for ages six to eleven by offering a balance of script acting, improv, musical theatre and special craft projects using items from home. Overall, our Summer Youth Theatre provides nearly 100 hours of creative enrichment and interaction for youth with common interests under the guidance of a team of area professionals.

*New information as of May 11, 2020:
In anticipation and compliance with the safety and mitigation guidelines projected so far for the Summer and Fall of 2020 regarding the possibility of live, theatrical performances amid COVID-19, Curtain Call will NOT be holding its Summer Youth Theatre production of Big the Musical, planned to begin production this June. HOWEVER…Curtain Call and its Summer Youth Theatre ARE making plans for a CONCERT EVENT that will allow for a more safer and more agreeable situation for our participants and audiences. Young artists interested in performing in this event will be able to submit their auditions via online later in June. Details are still to come and we will posting more information as soon as it is available. In the meantime, you may contact Education Director Brian Bianco at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
