Curtain Call offers two different summer programs for youth: our Summerstock and Summerstock Junior program, which is a full-day, conservatory-style workshop program for ages six thru sixteen, and our Summer Youth Theatre which produces a full-scale musical production each summer featuring performers and technicians grade four thru age twenty-one. Summerstock Full-Day Workshops
(Registration is still open and available)
Our SUMMERSTOCK (ages 11 to 16) and SUMMERSTOCK JUNIOR (ages 6 to 11) programs are full-day, theatre arts workshops. No previous experience is required and registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Each session culminates in a showcase performance on the final date (see descriptions below for specific dates and times). Each program session is two weeks. There is NO registration for just one week of the program. Students must be available for both weeks of any session and its performance showcase.
The maximum number of students accepted for each two-week session is forty (40). Students are grouped according to their date of birth and will rotate throughout the day in these age-appropriate groups between experienced teaching artists for specialized instruction. Our staff consists of three (3), specialized instructors, our program director, a program assistant and three (3) to six (6) classroom assistants. Material for classes (scenes, music, etc.) is often selected based on a different theme each summer. Students will work on a variety of pieces from different selected plays and musicals based upon that theme. Our showcase performance will present highlights of these pieces.
Students should bring a lunch each day. Refrigerators and microwave ovens are available for use at the theatre complex. There is no food service or transportation provided. We also have access to the playground on the Sterling Farms Complex for outdoor activities.
Drop-off begins a half hour before the start of the program. Earlier drop-offs may be discussed and arranged with our Education Director. (Contact email@example.com or 203-329-8207 x16.)
Discounts are available for siblings (10% off for each additional child). Scholarships and payment plans are also available for families in need. (See the sidebar to your right for scholarship application requirements or call 203-329-8207 x16.)
Please inform us of any allergies, special needs, conditions or medications.
There are four, separate Summerstock program sessions:
