Summerstock Full-Day Workshops
Our Summerstock and Summerstock Junior full-day performance workshops are conservatory-style programs where students hone creative, collaborative, performance and social skills. Summerstock and Summerstock Junior for 2021 is scheduled to take place IN-PERSON here at The Sterling Farms Theatre Complex. (Some guidelines, such as masks, may still be in place.)
There are four separate, two-week sessions that run Monday thru Friday. Our Summerstock and Summerstock Junior programs can accommodate a maximum of 40 students per session. Students are then divided into age-appropriate groups for class rotations between three instructors, each in their own specialized area of study. (Information on our staff’s backgrounds can be found in the sidebar to the right if you are on your computer, i-Pad or tablet or at the bottom of the page if you are on your phone.) ALL OUR SUMMERSTOCK INSTRUCTORS AND PROGRAM DIRECTORS HAVE BEEN FULLY VACCINATED.
Every Summerstock and Summerstock Junior session culminates in a showcase of student work. (This summer, our showcases will be recorded and then made electronically shareable with families.) The day typically runs 9:30am to 4:30pm in-person for grades 6 thru 12 and 10:00am to 3:00pm in-person for grades K to 5. A lunch and snack break will be part of the daily schedule. Lunch will normally take place on the playground and picnic area of the Sterling Farms property, weather permitting. Students will need to bring their own lunch, snack and water bottles.
Sibling Discounts and Payment Plan Options are available. Scholarships are available for students in need. Details on how to apply can be found in the sidebar to the right if you are on your computer or tablet (or to the bottom if you are on your phone).

Announcing our 31st Summer Youth Theatre production…
The Drowsy Chaperone
Music and Lyrics by Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison
Book by Bob Martin and Don McKellar
Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Book and Best Original Score, The Drowsy Chaperone is a loving send-up of the Jazz Age musical, featuring one show-stopping song and dance number after another.
With the houselights down, a man in a chair appears and decides to share his favorite cast album with the audience: a fictitious 1928 musical entitled, The Drowsy Chaperone. As the man looks on, the musical comes to life within his apartment. The 1928 storyline mixes in two lovers on the eve of their wedding, a bumbling best man, a desperate theatre producer, a not-so-bright hostess, two gangsters posing as pastry chefs, a misguided Don Juan a female aviatrix….and oh, yes – a drowsy chaperone: the ingredients for an evening of madcap delight. Hailed by New York Magazine as “The Perfect Broadway Musical,” The Drowsy Chaperone is a masterful meta-musical, poking fun at all the tropes that characterize the musical theatre genre.
