The Play the theatre has come to know simply as ....Forum, opened on Broadway in May, 1962, after many, many years of struggle, changes, rewrites and epic challenges.  The show was promptly crowned one of the most brilliantly conceived musical comedies.  Forum went on to win the Tony Award for Best Musical 1962 and has since won the Tony for Best Revival not once, but twice.  This was all achieved by simply pulling from the tradition of our earliest known theatre while simultaneously breaking the tradition of contemporary theatre by using only one stage set and no change of coustume....and that is how history is made.

The great success of the show stems from its truth and joy.  The truth of the play comes from our most basic needs, the desire for love and the need for freedom.  The joy of this play comes from watching the dominoes fall.  Mistaken identity, unexpected returns, complications, lies and cover-ups all leading to inevitable chaos and a happy ending, of course.  Put these togehter and you have a show that will make you smile, laugh and believe in the human spirit.
