Directors are storytellers using visuals, design, movement and even other artists as their medium. But how do they create a concept or vision that enhances and supports the story and not overshadow it? How do they collaborate and communicate with actors, technicians, designers, music directors, choreographers, etc.? What do they need to know about what happens behind the scenes in order for what’s onstage to happen? In this eight week course, students will explore how to develop a production concept, how to create interesting stage movement and visuals to tell a story, how to communicate and collaborate with other artists with specificity and even get to do some work hands-on scene directing.
Registration: $275
