Kweskin Theatre

Our 30th Anniversary Season

Just before we closed in March, we had started cleaning all high touch surfaces nightly with isopropyl alcohol. Since that time, we've learned more about how to create as safe an environment as possible for our staff, volunteers and patrons.  When we started performing outside in July, we followed all CT reopening protocols and our patrons thanked us for our vigilance.

Now that we're heading inside for live performances, we are taking the health and safety of everyone here, very seriously. The following information is current as of January 15, 2021. We will continue monitoring state and federal guidelines /regulations to be sure we are doing the best we can for everyone's safety.

  • Patrons are required to wear masks at all times. Masks will not be supplied.

  • Patrons will be seated SIX FEET away from other patron groups.

  • Actors will be 12 feet away from the first row of the audience.

  •  CT capacity restriction = 50%, plus social distancing. In The Kweskin Theatre, that will mean about 50 people;
    Regular capacity = 184.

  • All shows will be performed without intermissions to minimize lines to restrooms.

  • For the safety of our guests, volunteers and staff, no concessions will be available.

  • Arrival times will be scheduled in ten-minute intervals, based on seat location

  • Programs (playbills) will be digital, rather than printed, to minimize health risks.

  • Any guest needing to use the restroom during a performance will be escorted to and from the restroom by an usher to control occupancy levels.

  • Hand sanitizer is available in the lobby.

  • At the end of the show, guests will exit by row to minimize crowding.

  • The entire theatre, including seats, armrests and other high-touch surfaces, will be sanitized after each performance. This also includes using a special commerical grade, UV sanitizing light system.

  • We are now using the highest level air filters possible in our sustem and additional, portable hi level filter units are in the auditorium. During performances, the ratio to fresh outside air to recirculated air has been increased.
